On the 27th of July 2020 the NDIA released new information regarding assistance animals and the specific requirements of utilising these beautiful creatures for support. Several resources have been released for providers, participants, and assessors to access information. This information contains the funding of assistance animals, evidence that must be provided, specific definitions of terms and other relevant information. The Operational Guideline was also updated to include more information about assistance animals.
In addition to this, a new 'Assistance Animals Assessment Template' was released, which aims at improving providers services by giving participants the opportunity to access support from assistance animals.
